1. Searches performed from the homepage of VetMed Resource will retrieve results from the CABI content hosted in that collection. In the far left column under Applied Filters, the VetMed Resource filter will be seen.
Results are grouped for display according to content type: “Abstract records” tab includes results for all CABI’s database products; “Articles/Chapters” tab displays results for full text content published by CABI, including book chapters, journal articles (like CABI Reviews), CABI Compendium Datasheets, and Cases; “Publications” displays results from whole book titles and whole CABI journals; News/Blogs/Events displays the latest news, informative blog and an overview of relevant events.
2. To view content in the results from the Abstract records tab, which displays records from various publishers, select the access option available in the far bottom right of the citation record that may include Open URL, PDF/EPUB, etc.
In each citation, you will see the name of the resource, the type of content, language, and date. Results can be filtered by content type at the left.
Clicking the title of the citation will open the record. The same options for viewing the content will be found inside the individual record page.
3. To view content in the results from the Articles/Chapters tab which will display content from CABI resources only, select the option available in the far bottom right of the citation record. Options may include Open URL, PDF/EPUB, etc.
4. If LSU Libraries has access to the resource, your browser should resolve to the full text article. If LSU Libraries does not have access to the resource, clicking Find in my library will resolve to a page with a link to check the Library Catalog and an interlibrary loan request link. Please note, all Vet Med Library owned resources will lead to a page with an the interlibrary loan request link and a search the Catalog link. Click the Search the LSU Catalog link to see if the Vet Med Library owns the resource.
If neither LSU Libraries nor the Vet Med Library own the resource in question, use the Request this item through interlibrary loan option to obtain the resource.
