Accessing resources in Scopus
1. After a search is performed, the number of documents found in Scopus will be displayed. Above each numbered citation, you will see the type of resource that the citation references such as journal article, book, etc. Below each citation, selecting ‘Show abstract’ will display the abstract, selecting ‘View at Publisher’ will open the full text on the publisher website if access is available through the Library. Selecting ‘Related documents’ will display related documents based on shared references.
Secondary documents (documents that have been extracted from a Scopus document reference list but are not available directly in the Scopus database) can be viewed from the link at the very top of the documents list.

2. Clicking on the title of the citation brings you inside the record. Above the abstract, selecting ‘View PDF’ lets users who are entitled to the full-text of an article (either via open access or through their institutional subscription) reach it with one click. Selecting ‘Full text’ can lead directly to the article on the publisher’s website, or it may lead to open access when applicable.

If full access does not appear to be available, it is recommended to check the Library Catalog to validate whether the content should be available. If confirmed that the content is unavailable through the LSU Libraries, you can request an interlibrary loan for the article or book chapter. Selecting the Full Text Finder circular icon below will lead to a form where an interlibrary loan request is auto-populated. You will need to have a registered ILL account to use the service.
