Veterinary - Research Databases: Clinical Queries

Clinical Queries tool

The Clinical Queries tool was designed to help you search the clinical literature. It is useful when conducting evidence-based practice research. The Clinical Queries apply built-in search filters to the terms you enter.

Searching Clinical Queries

1. To access the tool from the PubMed home page, click on “Clinical Queries" under the Find menu.

2.  This tool uses predefined filters to help you quickly refine PubMed searches on clinical or disease-specific topics. To use this tool, enter your search terms in the search bar and select filters before searching.

3. PubMed Clinical Queries contains two types of Filter Categories: Clinical Studies and COVID-19. Select the appropriate search option.

The Filter menu has five study categories: Therapy, Clinical Prediction Guides, Diagnosis, Etiology, and Prognosis.

The Scope menu provides two options: Broad and Narrow. The Broad search will retrieve more results, but some will probably be less relevant. The Narrow, specific search will find more precise, relevant citations but retrieve fewer results.

After running a search, under the filter area, click on “See all results in PubMed” to view the PubMed Search Results and add additional filters.
