Create groups
In EndNote, you can organize your references by group. You can create multiple groups and place numerous references in each group.
- Open EndNote
- On the group panel (left-hand column), mouse over the 'My Groups' area
- Right-click on 'My Groups' and then choose 'Create Group'
- Rename the group by right-clicking and choosing 'Rename Group' (the default name for the group is 'New Group')
- After references have been imported, you can drag selected references into the custom groups OR right-click after selecting references and then choose the group you wish to add them to (see screenshot below)
Create group sets
Organize your groups by placing them into group sets.
- Open EndNote
- On the group panel (left-hand column), mouse over the 'My Groups' area
- Right-click on 'My Groups' and then choose 'Create Group Set'
- Rename the group set by right-clicking and choosing 'Rename Group Set' (the default name for the group is 'New Group Set')
- Drag groups to change their order or move them from one group set to another
