Open Educational Resources (OER)/Affordable Educational Resources (AER) Course Marking Mandate: Government Documents

Government documents are in the public domain and can serve as timely and authoritative sources of information to assist in building or supplementing your OER courses.

With materials covering every area of study, government documents can assist all LSU Faculty in their OER course building.

To search on your own, begin with these strategies.

1. General searches at USA.gov

2. Try one of the 5 National Libraries

3. Narrow down to specific agencies.

ex. USDA  v. National Ag Library v. USDA Economic Research Service

    Some agencies aren't .gov   example: si.edu, hsdl.org
