Annual Business Survery (ABS)The ABS is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Science Foundation's National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics, and provides annual data on select economic and demographic characteristics of employer businesses.

County Business Patterns (CBP)CBP is an annual series that provides subnational economic data by industry. This series includes the number of establishments, employment during the week of March 12, first quarter payroll, and annual payroll.

Economic CensusThe Economic Census provides detailed statistics that are important for industries and communities. Business owners and managers can compare the operating data for their business to totals and averages for their industry (such as sales per employee) from the national, state, and even local level to evaluate their current operations. Business owners and managers can also compare the data for their business to businesses in related industries and other industries in their local area.Business owners and managers can analyze information for their customers at the local level to identify unsaturated or emerging/growing markets for their products and for opportunities for expansion.
Entrepreneurs can use statistics from the Economic Census for the industry that they are considering starting a business in or for related industries at the local level in their business plans. -
Longitudinal Business Database (LBD)The Longitudinal Business Database (LBD) restricted-use microdata is accessible only to qualified researchers for approved projects in secure Federal Statistical Research Data Centers. By itself or linked to other Census products, the LBD provides important new insights about business formation and growth, the nature of competition, labor market dynamics, the nature of business cycles, the sources of productivity growth and the connections to credit markets and financing to name a few.

USA Trade OnlineProvided by the U.S. Census Bureau, USA Trade Online is a dynamic data tool that gives users access to current and cumulative U.S. export and import data.

ZIP Code Business Patterns (ZBP)Provides data on the number of business establishments by employment-size class for detailed industries. Statistics are provided for about 40,000 five-digit ZIP codes, including nine new ones nationwide and include the total number of establishments, employment and payroll. In addition, the number of establishments for nine employment-size categories is provided by detailed industry for each ZIP code.
