What is Redistricting?
Redistricting is the process of revising any geographic area that elects representatives based on census population distribution. Areas that use census data for redistricting include, but are not limited to, the U.S. Congress, state legislative bodies, a county or city council, or a school board.
- Redistricting Data ProgramA decennial census program that provides state officials the opportunity to identify the small area geographies they will need to meet successfully their state or local redistricting requirements.
- Congressional DistrictsThe tabs below represent the unique congressional sessions as collected by the U.S. Census Bureau through the Redistricting Data Program. Each tab contains information specific to that session's boundary collection along with other relevant products generated in support of any changes.
- The America Redistricting ProjectA database that includes congressional and state legislative districts and election results from 1962-2022 with detailed vote totals from 1976-2020.
