LSU Libraries became a federal depository library in 1907, but its collection of Government Documents dates back to 1789! There are so many government agencies that produce information on all topics: from the Arts and Sciences to the myriad of Health fields, Energy, Agriculture, Statistics, and of course Politics. As a depository library, we provide free access to the public.

Government Information is an important component of any research inquiry because of multiple factors:
