EndNote’s Cite While You Write feature allows you to use your EndNote references to insert citations in a Microsoft Word document while automatically creating a bibliography from the inserted citations. You can also change the format of your citations and bibliography.
'Cite While You Write' in MS Word
Open both your EndNote Library and your paper in Microsoft Word
In your Word document, make sure the 'EndNote' tab is selected at the top of the ribbon
Place cursor in location of desired citation -->click on ‘Insert Citations’ symbol -->select desired citations -->select citation style from drop-down menu
To edit and manage any citations, click the 'Edit & Manage Citation(s)' tab , rather than deleting or editing citations within the Microsoft Word document (otherwise, discrepancies between Word and EndNote will appear)
