To receive a journal article from Springer Nature in under two hours, request it through Interlibrary Loan and chose the “Expedite Request” option at the top of the request form. The complete instructions are below.
Quick method (Discovery search):
- From the LSU Libraries homepage, search for the article title in Discovery.
- Click Discovery
- Enter the article title or your search terms
- Click the Search icon (magnifying glass)
- Below the search result, choose “Request through LSU Interlibrary Loan.” You may be prompted to log on to MyLSU.
- An interlibrary loan request form appears, with the form already completed. If you prefer to “expedite” the request, choose “Yes” to the “Expedite Request?” question at the top of the form. When Expedite Request is chosen, eligible articles arrive within 2 hours and LSU Libraries pays an additional $30+ fee. If "No," article arrives within about 24 hours and LSU Libraries pays no fee.
- Enter a “Need by Date” in MM/DD/YYYY format.
- Scroll to the bottom of the form and click “Submit Request.”
Manual method:
- From the LSU Libraries homepage, click “ILL” on the right below the search bar. Or type “Interlibrary” on the “Website” search to bring up the Interlibrary Loan page.
- On the Interlibrary Loan page, choose “Request a Journal Article” then choose “Place Request.” You may be prompted to logon to MyLSU.
- The interlibrary loan request form appears. If you prefer to “expedite” the request, choose “Yes” to the “Expedite Request?” question at the top of the form. When Expedite Request is chosen, eligible articles arrive within 2 hours and LSU Libraries pays an additional $30+ fee. If "No," the article arrives within about 24 hours and LSU Libraries pays no fee.
- Enter a “Need by Date” in MM/DD/YYYY format.
- Complete the remainder of the request form. Only the fields with asterisks are required.
- Scroll to the bottom of the form and click “Submit Request.”
