This guide provides a list of resources on the topic of veterinary anatomy
CASKs (Canine Anatomical Skeleton Kits), also called "Bone Boxes", contain real canine skeletal bones that provide hands-on learning opportunities for veterinary students.
Guidelines for Use

Users should handle the bones with care.

An inventory list is included in each CASK and should remain inside once it is returned.

Please ensure that all items are returned in the same condition as when checked out, and the kit locked.
Borrowing a CASK

Select one of the CASK kits located on the cart at the entrance of the Vet Med Library's print room and bring it to the Library Circulation Desk for check out using your LSU Tiger Card.

The loan period is 24 hours. The fee for a late return is $5.00 per day. The fee for a kit returned seven days or later is the overdue fee plus a $25 service fee. The fee to replace a missing kit is $600.

The CASK kits are available for checkout when the Circulation Desk is open: Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. CASK kits checked out on Fridays are due the following Monday at 10:00am. If all of the CASKs are checked out, you can ask to be put on a waiting list to be emailed when the next kit is available.

CASK kits must be returned to the Circulation Desk when the Circulation Desk is open: Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

Each CASK toolkit comes with a padlock and key. Before you leave the library, make sure you receive the key to the box, and also quickly check the inventory of the box to report any damaged items.

If the kit or content becomes damaged or missing while in your care, immediately email Allison Vestal-Laborde at avestallaborde1@lsu.edu and return the CASK and its contents to the Vet Med Library on the due date.
