ENGL 2000 (Will): Where to start?

This guide will introduce you to resources for your paper.

Group Consultations

Need research assistance?

As you are all finding similar information (albeit on different topics), you might find that you and your peers have similar roadblocks in your research process.

I am offering group consultations to assist you in finding the information you're looking for. You are welcome to come during any of these times:

  • April 4th, 2-3 PM
  • April 9th, 12-1 PM
  • April 11th, 12-1 PM

No need to sign up -- just show up at any point during those hours and get your questions answered. Bring a classmate with you if you'd like! These consultations will be held in the RIS Conference Room, Middleton Library 141A1. Just ask at the Research Help Desk on the first floor and they can direct you to it!

Choosing a Topic

Choosing a topic can be difficult - where do you even start?  Below are some videos and tutorials that will help you to understand the research process and how to settle on a topic for your paper that you can further research.  Remember - be flexible when doing research - the topic you start with may change by the time you write your paper! These tutorials are only available for currently enrolled LSU students, faculty, and staff.  When attempting to access tutorials from off campus, users will be prompted to login to their myLSU Account.
