Available Services

Library Instruction

  • Want me to teach information literacy skills to your class? I can design sessions catering to your needs to help students complete the research required for your course. Request instruction in the library or in your classroom.

Workshops and Seminars

  • If you have a particular topic you'd like your students to learn about, such as how to use citation management software, I can create a specialized workshop addressing it for your class.

Research Guides

  • Research guides are a great way to introduce students to resources and databases that cover specific disciplines and to show students how to navigate the libraries' online catalog and databases. They are easy to use and can be tailored to fit the needs of each class. If you would like a guide created specifically for a course you are teaching, please let me know! These can also be embedded directly into your Moodle page. Contact me for more information or check out the GROK how-to page.

Online Tutorials

  • If your students need a demonstration, I can prepare a brief video going over a skill that can be embedded into your Moodle course page.

Research Consultations

  • Instruction sessions can be a great way to make students aware of library resources and how to use them. In addition, you have another option: one-on-one research consultations. Students can make appointments with a librarian for coaching on any step in the research process. Just have your students go to our Ask Us page and select Make an Appointment with a Subject Specialist.

Curriculum Design Consultations

  • Make an appointment with me to discuss ideas such as scaffolding the research process over the course of a semester, "backward designing" coursework to facilitate successful engagement with course outcomes, and addressing challenges such as evaluation of news sources in the age of "fake news."
